ANDRÉ MIGNIER dit/called LAGACÉ


Andre Mignier was born in 1640 on Re’s Island off the cost of France to Michel Mignier and Catherine Masson. He was a french soldier belonging to the l’Allier Regiment sent to Quebec City in 1665 by King Louis X1V to protect the french settlers from the Iroquois Indians. Andre was 24 years old when he came to Nouvelle-France ( Canada) on june, 30th, 1665. In the army, he was called by his nickname ¨ La Gâchette ¨ ( the trigger ) which means ¨ someone who can shoot with abilities ¨ or ¨sharpshooter ¨. La Gâchette became Lagace. Andre saw living 67 grand children and 21 grand grand children. He died, february, 4th, 1729, at La Pocatière, Québec.


JACQUETTE MICHEL dite/called MICHAUD


Jacquette Michel was part of a group of 78 Filles du Roy, the ¨ King’s daughters ¨ that landed in Quebec City on the 3rd of july 1668. Orphan, widow, daughter of Jacques Michel and Jeanne Dupont. She was 30 years old and coming from St. Catherine, on Re’s Island. On october 14, 1668 Andre received a land located in Charlesbourg. On october, 23rd, 1668 their marriage was blessed in Notre Dame church in the heart of old Quebec City . They all had a good genetic, they have not lost one child. She died on november, 28th, 1710.
